Everyone will remember Simphiwe Gwegwe because he travelled 1970km so he could Audition. He first travelled from Port Nolloth in the Northern Cape to Johannesburg but Auditions were over. He then travelled to Durban for the second leg of Auditions. Luckily for him, he had the talent to scoop the Golden Ticket.



He then travelled to Sun City for Theatre Week. Again, he prevailed and made it through to the Top 18. After hearing the news, he was overwhelmed with emotion: “I’m lost for words, there are thousands of amazing voices and I’m the only one from the Northern Cape, I travelled so far and I’ve reached Top 16 of Idols, I feel so amazing right now.”
