Review: Episode 21
The Top 5 Performance Show was double the fun with each Contestant performing two songs from Rolling Stone Magazine’s list of Top 500 songs ever.

Under the mentorship of Zolani Mahola from the SAMA-winning Afro-Soul group Freshlyground, the Idols hopefuls interpreted and rehearsed some of the best hits in music history.

Monde opened the show with U2’s “One” and later sang “Cry Me A River” by Justin Timberlake.

Simphiwe took to the Idols stage with the Bob Marley classic “No Woman No Cry”. His second song of the night was “I Can’t Make You Love Me” by Bonnie Raitt.

Tshidi’s songs for the night were John Lennon’s “Imagine” and Ike and Tina Turner’s “River Deep Mountain High”.

Melissa performed “Ain’t No Sunshine” by Bill Withers and later sang “Proud Mary” by Tina Turner.

Khaya performed the Marvin Gaye mega-hit “Let’s Get It On” and Otis Redding’s “Try A Little Tenderness”.

It is now up to you to keep your favourite Contestant in the game.
