When Lloyd Cele spent time with the Contestants last week, he gave them some wonderful words of wisdom.

Since it was the “Showstopper” theme he was preparing them for, he said: “You got to control your breathing and you have to know your steps so well that you do not think about them on stage.”

Tackling the issue of life after Idols, he impressed on the Contestants that it is very different to be in the real world compared to being part of the competition. To make a sustainable income from the music industry, he said: “You got to go out there, you have to work hard and keep pushing the bar every single time.”

Lloyd sheepishly confessed he would have loved to be a Contestant this year. “I really do feel this year, it is vocally challenging. There are a lot of vocal guys here,” he professed. Whether he would have ended up in the Top 2 this time, he could not be certain.

He also lovingly speaks of the support he has received from his growing family. Throughout his musical journey, he said they have adjusted accordingly and understood his changing circumstances.

Besides having a new album, he is also working on a book called “Dream of an Idol” that could be out by the end of the year. To anyone who wants to go out there and achieve a seemingly impossible dream, he said the book should serve as inspiration and motivation.
