Artist Focus: Drakensberg Boys Choir
Mon, 27 Aug 2012 14:00
It is an understatement that the Drakensberg Boys Choir caused a stir when they performed with the Top 7 on the Idols stage.
Johann van der Sandt, Director of Music at the school said the Idols experience was a wonderful one for the boys. “Some of them aspire to be here in the future.” He added that it was a highlight to be treated as real artists – to get the experience of the cameras, lights and many costume changes.
The self-proclaimed “home of South Africa’s singing ambassadors” has been around for 45 years and is the only boys choir school on the continent.
